Finish Each Other's

She spoke the words I was about to speak!

And far from jealousy I marvel that

Another mind and mine could work upon

The very same celestial document;

We’ve spent so many hours in an exchange

Of thoughts and sentiments alien to one

But perfectly familiar to the first –

So polar are our thoughts and yet our minds

Are strongly, impossibly unified.

Is there some link, some tether from beyond,

That binds her thoughts fast to the end of mine?

Or do statistics, noisy patterns, show

The power that larger numbers seem to wield:

To make a fool of mankind’s weaker sense,

Which finds divine what’s just coincidence?
